Okay my lovely. It's finally here. Summer. Warm days, late nights, and lots of reasons to get out there and really live your life. Whether you're at the beach, the pool, or a BBQ bash there are things you should know to help you keep your lashes looking gorgeous this summer season.
Life moves fast and we don't always notice the things that are going on around us. Heat exposure will melt those pretty lashes in no time flat. So when you are opening up the BBQ lid, take cover! When you are reaching into the oven to take out dinner, maybe throw on some goggles (no, I am not kidding). When you are lighting up a cigarette (or anything else for that matter (I'm not judging)) take good care to do so away from your lashes. Why? They WILL melt.
A dip in the ocean is a sure sign that summer is here. Be it at the Jersey Shore or Navagio beach in Greece salt is the major trait of the ocean water. Salt stays behind even once the water has dried up deteriorating the adhesive between your lashes and the extensions. So, when you are done bobbing with the waves rinse your lashes with some fresh water and pat them dry or use a mini fan to do an even better job for. And give them a nice deep cleanse once you get home with your oil-free lash shampoo.
The pool is totally cool. There's nothing like getting together with friends and family for a backyard pool party bash. Just remember, the moisture left on your eyes from the pool water, along with the salt or chlorine and other additives will begin to break down the adhesive if left on the lashes for too long. So, same as with salt, wash away the pool water with some fresh water until you get home for that deep cleanse. Don't forget to dry them, too.
The weather, as I write this, has been humid to the fullest definition of the word. And if you're a lash extension diva, you know that humidity and lash extensions don't exactly get along. While there isn't a whole lot you can do about humidity aside from remaining indoors (not a very summer thing to do) you can make sure to keep an eye on your extension shedding and schedule your fill appointments accordingly.
Hey, it's hot and sweating is part of the summer game. Some sweat more, some sweat less. But no matter who you are, if you are living and breathing you are, you guessed it -- sweating. Sweat is both, liquid and salty which are both a big no-no for lash extensions. So to prevent early shed, rinse and dry your lashes through out the extra sweaty days for best retention.
Now that you know how to get the best out of your lash extensions this summer, leave me a quick comment below on your favorite way to spend a hot summer day and GET OUT THERE & ENJOY THIS FLEETING SEASON!!!
